Ever since I can remember, I have loved sports, but oh boy, I hated running! It was like torture for me. Running without playing football, basketball or any other sport was outrageous to me. What was the point of running? I was young, I was healthy, and running felt stupid, lame and unnecessary.
How wrong I was! Maybe it was just not my time for running. A few years ago my neck hurt so much from being on the computer all day and then on my cellphone the rest of the day (such a terrible habit). I tried medication, which helped until I stopped taking it. I tried stretching, but it wasn't enough with my bad habit.
One day I was walking and something inside me just clicked, or a kind of inner voice told me: "Just RUN!" This was a life changing moment, and I am not exaggerating. Since that day I haven't stopped running. I love it, and I think I will always run.
I am able to run 5 km every session, and I do at least 3 sessions per week. However, getting here was so, so difficult. On my first attempt I probably ran 100 meters before feeling the urgent need to stop... I will write more about how I was able to run this much, but for now, dear reader... Just RUN!
